The Gurukulam (Hostel) for Harijan and orphan boys is running in heavy deficit. Funds are continually required for the upkeep of the facility and also for the boarding expenses of the student inmates. Please use the Contact Form at the end of this page for expressing your offer to help. Ecology & Water ConservationWater, as we know, is one of the disappearing resources. The Ashram stands on approximately ten acres of land. The growing need for sustaining the hostel, the school, the dairy and the extensive cultivation initiative continues to strain our water resources!
This precious resource has caught our attention and fortunately we were able to commence work on upgrading an existing deep pond in the corner of the campus (pictures). The first phase, which is the embankment improvement, was accomplished through Bhagavan’s Grace and by the generous donations of devotees. The second phase envisages the widening (by excavation) of the existing diameter of the water body and also the construction of a sturdy perimeter with firm platforms where devotees and inmates can spend time in quiet meditation. The final phase will take place outside the pond’s perimeter. A flower garden for catering to the daily pooja at the Temple will form a floral fence around the pond. The western side of the pond will be home to vetiver plants, well known for its ‘cool’ roots.
Engineers’ expert opinion is awaited for an actual evaluation of the work to be done. We are sure and certain our well wishers and the general public will come forward to help us complete this important work.
